A green, second life for an old computer

Mr. Plant

French artist Christophe Guinet, also known as Monsieur Plant or Mr. Plant, has turned old Apple computers into wonderful new homes for plants.

Disconnect & Think Nature

This project has been aptly named “Plant your Mac.” The goal of this project is to pull people out of their technology obsession and help them apply more green in their lives. After all these two go hand in hand!

The computers that are used are old Macintosh computers, mainly the “vintage” machines of the 90s. Each one is customised to create the ideal environment for the plant.

No matter how careful we are with our technology, at some point it’s time for a replacement. What could be more fun than to give your favourite computer or laptop a second life. With plants in the screen, growing from the mouse or planted on top of the computer, it’s a fun way to recycle and appreciate plants at the same time.
